The New Structure

Earlier I posted a "skeletal structure of the whole show". I want to make it clear that I have more or less decided to scratch this idea, and go with a new one. Here it is:

1) THE LPAC

Audiences are seated in the LPAC for the beginning of the IP Showcase. Since my piece will go first for logistical reasons, they begin here.

2) TRANSITION TO THE CAFETERIA

The 12th grade IB theatre class (with my help) will be responsible for sheparding the audience to the cafeteria, where they will be seated in the back. This will be in a mock format of an "AIS Tour" Essentially, they will be playing AIS ambassadors who are "taking the audience on a tour".

3) THE PLAY "CAFETERIA STORIES"

Once they audience is seated in the cafeteria, the play (which is scripted) will begin. My role is as "stage manager" (think Our Town) and I will announce the play as part of the tour, and then provide titles for individual moments. The actors are each playing AIS students (not unlike themselves) who tell stories of the cafeteria at different stages of development. The play ends with them going "off to college".
